This session provides a longitudinal perspective on critical issues in U.S. health policy. Specifically, the session offers new evidence on trends in disparities in quality-adjusted life expectancy by socioeconomic status, race and other factors; the returns to health care spending, with a focus on the "quality" of the spending, rather than the quantity; and productivity growth in the hospital industry.
