Impact of insurance Expansion on Hospital Uncompensated Care Costs in 2015

This paper will summarize research on the effect of the major health insurance coverage expansion under the Affordable Care Act on the drivers of uncompensated care and on hospital uncompensated care costs. Using hospital financial reporting and member surveys from hospital associations, this paper will forecast changes in payer mix and uncompensated care in 2015.  The paper will update key findings published by the Assistant Secretary for Evaluation and Planning.
